Albert Einstein lived in our office premises from 11th October 1900 until 17th May 1901. He is a source of inspiration for our creativity and our work. Albert Einstein’s room was on the first floor. He rented from Ms Henriette Haegi, and studied at the Polytechnic in Zurich. It was a requirement for his later position at the “Federal Office for Intellectual Property” in Berne that he should hold Swiss citizenship. He applied for it during the time he lived here. Albert Einstein became a Swiss citizen on 7th February 1901.
